It's no secret that the quality of tap water leaves much to be desired. It contains large amounts of chlorine, copper, zinc and other metals. Aquarium fish cannot live in such an environment. Before adding it to the aquarium, the water has to be filtered and settled, but even this is not always possible to get rid of harmful substances. In this case, the Aquasafe air conditioner comes to the rescue, creating an ideal environment for fish.

Description: Tetra SafeStart creates a biological environment suitable for immediately introducing fish into a new aquarium: - SafeStart contains specially grown live nitrifying bacteria that reliably reduce the levels of toxic ammonia and nitrite in the aquarium. — reduce the ammonia content by 14 times and nitrite by 10 times. - can be used in a newly installed aquarium, after a partial water change and after using medications. — SafeStart is ideal to use in combination with AquaSafe, which with the BioExtract formula creates optimal conditions for bacteria. - can be stored for 12 months without refrigeration at a temperature between 2°C and 30°C. - for all freshwater aquariums. Packaging format: 50 ml / 100 ml / 250 ml Before you can introduce fish into a new aquarium, three to four weeks must pass, which are required to create the necessary biological environment. During this time, beneficial microorganisms settle and multiply in the aquarium, without which it is impossible to establish the biological balance necessary for both fish and aquarium plants. Otherwise, if the new aquarium does not have enough nitrifying bacteria, the ammonia and nitrite levels may reach too high levels, which are dangerous for everyone in the aquarium. With the launch of Tetra SafeStart, TETRA revolutionized the aquarium hobby. TetraAqua SafeStart creates a biologically active natural environment that allows you to immediately introduce fish into a new aquarium. SafeStart contains two types of live bacteria - Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira. The first, Nitrosomonas, oxidize ammonia and ammonium to nitrites, and Nitrospira, in turn, converts nitrites into nitrates. The use of Tetra Safe Start will help reduce the level of ammonia by 14 times, and the level of equally dangerous nitrites by 10 times. Tetra SafeStart gives aquarists the ability to immediately introduce fish into a new aquarium. Application: Before use, shake SafeStart thoroughly and add 5 ml for every 6 liters of water (one division on the measuring scale corresponds to 10 ml). Important: the water temperature must be at least 20C. Shelf life: 1 year at storage temperatures from 2 to 30°C. Additional clarifications: When introducing this drug and fish into the aquarium, there is still NO ammonia and nitrites in it, they appear and accumulate gradually (as the waste of the fish accumulates), first ammonia, after a week it turns into nitrite, during the same time the bacteria leave suspended animation and are active in work, i.e. First, ammonia is converted into nitrite, and nitrite into nitrate. As a result, their values are in a permanently normal state.
Remedy for goldfish
The AquaSafe for Goldfish conditioner is designed for cold water aquariums. This drug is similar in composition and action to AquaSafe, differing only in some protective components. AquaSafe for Goldfish is used for cold water fish such as goldfish. It perfectly purifies water, binds harmful substances and neutralizes chlorine. The product protects the mucous membranes of fish , promotes reproduction and reduces stress, increases their endurance and immunity.
Tetra water purification conditioners make keeping fish in an aquarium much easier. They create an environment close to their natural habitat, improve their health and increase their ability to reproduce. The use of drugs improves stress resistance of fish and promotes the growth of aquarium plants.
How much AQUASAFE is needed for 1 liter? Let's figure it out
Aquasafe - sometimes necessary
Today I am ready to solve once and for all one of the most common problems of beginning aquarists.
People always ask me: how much air conditioner is needed for an aquarium of 1.5 liters, 17 liters, 23 liters... It’s very simple. You won't have to calculate anything. It is enough to buy a disposable 20 ml syringe. We don’t throw away the needle and cap (it will come in handy).
We already know from the manufacturer's instructions that 2 ml (SERA Aquatan) or 5 ml (TETRA AquaSafe) of conditioner should be added to 10 liters of water.
We do this:
1) We fill a clean 20 ml syringe with conditioner from a bottle (you can use a needle), based on 10 liters of water.
2) Fill the same syringe with clean water (from an aquarium) up to 20 ml. We obtain a conditioner solution that can be dosed very precisely.
3) 2 ml of solution in a syringe contains the amount of conditioner per 1 liter of water. 1 ml of solution - per half liter.
4) Thus, for 1.5 liters of water we will need 3 ml of conditioner solution from a syringe. For 17 liters - a standard dose of a concentrated solution from the manufacturer per 10 liters of water + 14 ml of solution from a syringe (2 ml per 7 liters). For 23 liters, respectively, 2 standard doses per 10 liters + 6 ml of solution from a syringe.
Now you can easily dose the conditioner with precision even for 0.5 liters of water.
5) The remainder of the solution can be stored in a syringe with a needle and cap attached in the refrigerator. Label each syringe with a marker if you are also dispensing fertilizer. Problem solved)))
You can dose the conditioner using a 10 ml syringe. Then add 1 ml of solution from a syringe to 1 liter of water, and 0.5 ml to 0.5 liters.
You can also use concentrated AquaSafe and a 5 ml syringe, then 0.5 ml of conditioner will be used for 1 liter of water.
You can) As you like.
In conclusion, I will express my opinion about reasonable savings. Personally, I try to buy the largest bottles of conditioner (500 ml). It's cheaper and lasts a long time. It is best, of course, to buy a 5-liter canister =)))
I have used air conditioners from several manufacturers (SERA, TETRA, JBL). I didn't notice any difference. I tried special conditioners (for shrimp and crayfish, for roosters). Nothing special. I and my animals are quite happy with AquaSafe. I stopped experimenting.
However, it is more profitable to take Aquatan from SERA: for 10 liters of water it takes 2 ml, and not 5 , like the Tetra one. You decide.
I hope that after reading this article, owners of non-standard vessels will no longer have difficulty dosing aquarium conditioners)
Conditioner composition
Thanks to its thoughtful composition, Tetra Betta AquaSafe neutralizes chlorine, as well as zinc, copper, lead and other heavy metals found in tap water.
In addition, it contains iodine (promotes the active functioning of fish), magnesium (improves well-being and stimulates the growth of aquarium inhabitants), B vitamins (help fight stress), colloidal substances (to protect fins and gills). And the BioExtract triggers the development of beneficial microorganisms, which makes aquarium water clear and clean.

Use of the drug
To quickly adapt fish to changing living conditions, Aquasafe is used. Instructions for its use are as follows:
- the drug is used when starting a new aquarium;
- it is used for complete or partial water replacement;
- when transporting fish to a new habitat;
- when placed in quarantine;
- after treatment with medications;
- after other stresses suffered by the inhabitants of the aquarium.
The composition is used in the following ratio: for every 10 liters of water add 5 ml of conditioner. If you are using it to prepare a new aquarium, you should not introduce the fish immediately after adding the conditioner. It takes time for the drug to have its effect.
To enhance the effect of the conditioner, it is used together with Tetra EasyBalance. This is a drug that records the level of hardness and chemical reaction of the aquatic environment. It prevents their vibrations, which negatively affect the health of the fish in the aquarium. Tetra EasyBalance contains a biological formula that reduces phosphate and nitrate levels. It also replenishes the lack of vitamins and microelements and allows you to reduce the number of water changes. TetraAqua AquaSafe has the following advantages:
- there is no need to install sedimentation tanks, which is especially important for owners of large aquariums;
Aquasafe allows you to avoid settling your aquarium water - The conditioner is easy to use - just add the product to tap water;
- the drug performs its functions well in purifying water and protecting fish from diseases;
- it saturates the aquatic environment with useful substances.
The disadvantages of the air conditioner include its rather high price. This is especially noticeable for owners of large aquariums , where the consumption of the drug is high. It is more profitable for them to buy air conditioning in large containers, as it costs less.
