Growing and care
The plant forms extensive root systems, so it is important to choose the right soil. The ideal planting medium is nutritious, fine-grained.
You can grow Eriocaulon King Crimson from seeds in moist soil. The container with sowing must be placed in a cool place. At high temperatures, the sprouts die. The optimal temperature for germination is 24-26°C. Be sure to provide bright lighting for at least 12 hours a day.
Rules for planting a sprout in an aquarium:
- Preparation of roots: inspection for rot, contamination, rinsing under water.
- Place the plant in the soil at the bottom of the aquarium, after a while fill the container with water.
- If the aquarium is active, you need to pour soil along the front wall of the aquarium, then use tweezers to deepen the roots into the substrate.
Eriocaulon sp. King Crimson is "afraid" of algae. The plant has delicate leaves that are difficult to remove plaque without damaging. To avoid this, it is necessary to maintain aquarium hygiene and adjust the light regime.
Water parameters for ideal maintenance
- Greens feel good in “soft” water with an acidity pH of 5.5 – 6.8.
- The maximum permissible pH level is 8.
- Optimal water hardness is 4-8 dGH.
It is important to ensure fluid circulation. In stagnant water with pollution and algae, the planting quickly dies.
Lighting requirements
The recommended lighting power is at least 40 lumens per liter of water. Duration - 10-12 hours a day. Due to lack of light, newly planted specimens may dissolve, and mature plants may stop growing.
Care must be taken to ensure that other plants do not block the light. The optimal solution is to plant Eriokaulon King Crimson in the foreground.
Requirements for soil, nutrient substrate
The optimal soil height is at least 8-9 cm. Eriokaulon King Crimson should be planted in nutritious soil or use a substrate that must be placed under the bottom of the main soil.
The substrate provides effective feeding of the plant roots. A tab with a high content of microelements, phosphates, magnesium, potassium, iron, and nitrates is suitable. This substrate does not affect the pH of the water.
Requirement for fertilizers
Eriocaulon King Crimson responds well to feeding. You can add iron in the form of tablets, micro and macroelements in liquid form.
For the formation of a leaf rosette and rapid growth of the plant, it is recommended to supply CO2. The preferred option is carbon-containing preparations. They are well absorbed and reduce the risk of algae. When exposed to CO2, the leaves may change color slightly towards a pink tint.

Conditions:
Temperature: 23-25 ° C, Lighting: high, CO2: required, Water parameters: soft and neutral. Growth rate: average.
The name of the plant is commercial. There is no Eriocaulon with this name in the scientific literature. Belonging to the family has not been scientifically proven. Named after the place where it was discovered.
Quite a rare plant in the aquarium hobby. A relatively large plant - up to 12-15 cm. The discoid stem is white. The leaves form a basal rosette, are quite wide, and pale green in color. Well developed root system.
Requires strong lighting, CO2 supply and the application of macro and micro fertilizers. The growth rate is average.
Reproduction by lateral daughter plants and division. There is a possibility of the plant dying after separation.
Tips from aquarists on keeping
Eriocaulon King Crimson is one of the most unexplored species of aquatic plants, so aquarists have their own life hacks. 4 tips for successfully growing the “crimson emperor”:
- Until the plant begins to actively grow, it is not recommended to use liquid fertilizers - this will provoke the appearance of algae.
- It is necessary to do a water change once a week - approximately 10-30% of the aquarium volume.
- Be sure to ensure that the leaves of the plant are not covered with a coating of algae and dirt.
- Water is osmosis. At least the first 25-27 days of the sprout’s life.
Eriocaulon sp. Sieboldianum

Eriocaulon sp.
Shiga Conditions:
Temperature: 23-25 ° C, Lighting: high, CO2: desirable, Water parameters: soft and neutral. Growth rate: average.
The name of the plant is commercial. There is no Eriocaulon with this name in the scientific literature. Belonging to the family has not been scientifically proven.
The plant is similar in appearance to Eriocaulon parvum. Perhaps, and it is, the modification is associated with growing conditions.
The maximum size of the plant is 10 cm. The color of the leaves is deep green. The tips of the leaves are curved downwards.
Reproduction by lateral daughter plants and division.
San Francisco
Tourists do not go to San Francisco to spend a vacation with their children at the seaside. After all, it is almost always cool there and there is no such variety of beaches as in Los Angeles, as well as Disneyland and amusement parks, as in Orlando. They come for interesting sights or simply want to live in a city with its own special climate and history, and feel its atmosphere.

Reproduction
Eriocaulon sinerium reproduces with the help of peduncles on which small young rosettes are formed. Sometimes, under good growing conditions, the mother bush can divide into several, up to 8-10 growth points. The aquarist can carefully divide the mother bush into growth points and plant young rosettes. You can also divide a healthy, strong bush into two or four parts yourself using a sharp knife. After planting, each individual part of the mother bush will grow into an adult rosette.
